Wat is it? The Scrubbing Bubbles toilet cleaning gel is a disk of gel that is applied with a dispenser just under the rim of a toilet bowl.

The promise: With each flush, the gel disolves a bit to keep your toilet bowl clean and fresh.

The cost: The device has a cost of $4,79. This inclused 6 disk gels that last about a week each.

The verdict: I tried this product after falling in love with the automatic shower cleaner manufactured by the same company but I am sligtly disapointed. I do love the fresh smell of this product but it doesn’t do a great job actually cleaning the toilet bowl.

Bottom line: You will love this product as a deodorant but keep scrubbing that toilet bowl!

What is it?
The Scrubbing Bubbles’s automatic shower cleaner is a device which you place in your shower and cleans your shower with the push of a button.

The promise:
This product promises to clean your shower so you wont have to. It promises to clean soap scum, and mildew.

The cost:
You can get a starter kit for 25$. This includes the device, the cleaning product and a hanger for the shower head.

The verdict:
I just bought a house that comes with a seperate shower with nice glass panels. I love the style but I hate being a slave to the shower! I decided to try this scrubbing Bubble product. It took about a week for me to see the difference in the level of cleanliness of the shower but it definately did the job for me. If it wasn’s for a mild case of OCD, I would never touch that shower again(It’s just too good to be true). The product last about two weeks when used once a day, and it leaves the shower spotless.

Bottom line:
The Scrubbing Bubbles:
Automatic shower cleaner delivers so you don’t have too but be patient that first week and you will reap great results.

The cost: This product is more expensive than your typical sponge. You can buy it in a pack of 2 for $4,49 or a pack of 4 for $5.99. So far I haven’t found the four pack version in Montreal.

The verdict: I just bought a range with a ceramic cook top, and I thought I could just use a regular sponge along with the special cleaning product recommended by the manufacturer (Cerama Bryte). Soon enough, I found the regular sponge just couldn’t deliver. So I went to the cleaning aisle of the grocerie store and came accross the vileda ceramic scrunge. I fell in love with this product right away. It removes all burn stains easily, along with grease and dirt. It leaves my cook top looking like brand new. I also find this sponge has a longer life span then a regular sponge.

Bottom line: The Vileda Glass Ceramic Scrunge delivers their promise to the “P”!

The promise: The new luminaire was created to accent your home with fresh scent without the hazard of flames found in candles. It comes in inspirational designs for every occasion. They even have holiday designs!

The cost: The main kit is sold for $15.99, it comes with two shades and 2 AA batteries. Whenever you run out, you get more shades at a lesser cost.

The verdict: The Febreze Luminaire is absolutely beautiful and it adds warmth to any room however the smell is overbearing and fades very quickly. Recently, I used this product as I was showing an apartment for rent. I used the luminaire for two hours. The smell was so strong I felt like I could taste it! After that evening, I tried to use the luminaire again but all of the fragrance was gone.

Bottom line: although the Febreze Luminaire is a great decorative feature, the smell is too strong and doesn’t last long enough to make up for the price.

The promise: The Swiffer Wet Jet mopping system promises to break out and dissolve tough messes better than a regular mop and bucket. The cleaning product that comes along  with the system is said to absorb grime and dirt and trap them unto the pad.

The cost: The Starter kit  is sold for $24.99 plus tax. This system comes with the mob that requires a bit of assembly, 2 disposable cleaning pads, a bottle of cleaning product and one scrubbing strip. It does not include the 4 AA batteries needed to operate this mop. Later on you can purchase more cleaning pads for the cost of $6.99 for twelve (one pad can clean 2 big rooms)

The verdict: When I saw the Swiffer Wet Jet on television I got quite excited about it, I thought it would be the solution to all of my problems… I was wrong. The mop system, has the cleaning product attached to it which made it heavier than a regular mop. Although the mop cleaned well, I have a hard time manoeuvering it where I want it to go and I am a fit person. I also found that the mop was not great at cleaning grout on ceramic floors.

Bottom line: the Swiffer Wet Jet is definitely a great floor cleaner for laminate, hardwoods floors that are treated or even vinyl but beware if you have any kind of injuries!

The promise: This bar is said to be more convenient; no more forgotten dryer sheets. It also promises the same Bounce smell,  softness, and static control.

The cost: I bought the bar for $7,99 plus tax.

The verdict: I have been using the Bounce Bar for 2 months now and I really enjoy it. The Bar is indeed convenient, I no longer have to think of it. What used to bother me about the dryer sheets was collecting them after the load was dry. I would always forget at least one dryer sheet in one of my towels! No more problems like that.  When I bought the bar I used the remaining of dryer sheets to freshen up closets and drawers, that works best for me.

Bottom line: I would recommend the Bounce Bar to anyone who is forgetful or like me hates finding the dryer sheets when the load is dry. Apart from that this product delivers the same fresh smell, the clothes are left soft and static is controlled as well as when using dryer sheets.

While I do fall for all kinds of commercial, once I receive the goods, I am sometimes pleasantly surprised and others deeply disappointed.
